Our diverse client base includes consumer-facing brands, media businesses, and service sector companies. Our finance practice focuses on strategic finance, FP&A, and operational finance. Our analytics practice includes customer-, inventory-, revenue-, and marketing-analytics as well as general data science.

We are adding a Director of Accounting to our team of talented professionals. This is a key leadership role with full ownership of the accounting function, overseeing a team of controllers, coordinating offshore accounting resources, ensuring the accuracy and quality of all deliverables, and directly managing select client relationships.

This role is best suited for a hands-on leader who enjoys balancing technical accounting work, team management, and client interactions in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of controllers
• Review and validate the team’s work to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to GAAP
• Develop and maintain best practices, workflows, and performance standards for the department
• Manage and coordinate offshore accounting teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and consistent output quality
• Promote clear communication and integration between U.S.-based and offshore resources

Client Management

• Directly manage small to mid-sized client accounts
• Provide strategic oversight and guidance to controllers managing other accounts
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, ensuring high-quality service and compliance

Business Development & Onboarding

• Support leadership in scoping and presenting new business opportunities
• Oversee and lead the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a seamless transition into ongoing services
• Identify opportunities to expand services with existing clients

Department Ownership

• Own the accounting function across all clients, including processes, reporting, and compliance
• Oversee both domestic and offshore accounting resources, optimizing utilization and efficiency across teams
• Drive efficiencies through tools, automation, and continuous process improvements
• Partner with firm leadership to align accounting operations with strategic goals

Qualifications:

• CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role
• Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting best practices
• Experience managing offshore or distributed accounting teams preferred
• Background in client service or consulting environment is a plus
• Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills
• Comfortable managing a fully remote team across multiple time zones
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel

Base pay range: $120,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr
