A leading design firm is seeking a creative designer for the EMEA region to oversee post-occupancy tenant improvement and small/medium site projects. This role involves collaboration with various teams and may include 20-30% travel. Ideal for professionals looking to innovate workplace design solutions in a dynamic environment.
The Global Design team is seeking a creative, innovative, results-oriented designer based in Barcelona, Madrid, or London who will be responsible for the design of post-occupancy tenant improvement and small/medium new sites or expansion projects in the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) portfolio. This role reports to the EMEA Design Manager and works closely with the EMEA Design & Construction (D&C) team, the Workplace Guidelines & Standards team, and the Global Transformation & Insights team.
The role focuses on the design of “post-occupancy” tenant improvement projects (updating and evolving the design of spaces currently in use) and small/medium new site projects or expansions. Project scopes range from designing several floors of a building for a new team to designing smaller specialty spaces, and developing design solutions applicable to multiple projects (for example, acoustics, lighting, or furniture). Over time, the designer will gain familiarity with Amazon’s EMEA corporate workplace portfolio to proactively identify and recommend design solutions. The role collaborates with the EMEA D&C team and sub-consultants/vendors on project delivery.
The designer will collaborate with the EMEA Design Manager and the D&C Manager, external vendors as local project managers and design teams (Architect of Record), and the Workplace Guidelines & Standards team. They will help translate design elements into Guidelines and produce visuals and narratives for publication. The role may also contribute to process improvement initiatives related to workplace design.
This is a regional role focused on the EMEA region and requires approximately 20-30% travel.
