Job summary

Slalom seeks a Junior Data Engineer to join our Data Management and Governance capability in Colombia and Mexico. You will design, build, and support data pipelines, context layers, and platform integrations with Databricks and Snowflake.

You should have 3–5 years of hands-on experience, strong Python and SQL skills, and a grounding in MDM and data quality. This role offers growth in a collaborative, enterprise environment with exposure to modern data platforms.

• Data Engineering & Pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain efficient data pipelines and integration workflows using Python and advanced SQL.
• Context Layer Development: Build, optimize, and support enterprise semantic and context layers to unify data structures for analytical and operational consumption.
• Platform Integration: Work hands-on with modern data platforms—including Databricks and Snowflake—to ingest, transform, and model enterprise data.
• MDM & Data Quality Support: Assist senior technical leads and architects in implementing Master Data Management (MDM) solutions, data cleansing pipelines, and automated data quality checks.
• Technical Solution Execution: Translate technical requirements and architectural designs into reliable, scalable code and database structures.

Slalom is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Data Engineer to join our growing Data

Management and Governance capability in Colombia and Mexico. In this role, you will work closely with

senior enterprise architects and technical leads to design, build, and support robust data pipelines, data

integrations, and advanced context layers.

We are looking for someone with 3 to 5 years of hands‑on technical experience who excels at writing clean

SQL and Python code, understands core data engineering principles, and is eager to grow within the data

management space. You will serve as a key technical contributor supporting Master Data Management

(MDM), Data Quality initiatives, and modern context layer development.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience: 3 to 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, database development, or technical data management roles.
• Technical Proficiency:
  • Strong, production-grade Python scripting skills.
  • Advanced **SQL** query writing, performance tuning, and relational/analytical schema design.
  • Hands‑on experience with **Databricks** (Delta Lake, Spark) or **Snowflake** (Snowpark,Warehousing).
• Integration & Context Layers: Demonstrated ability to build data integration workflows and semantic context layers.
• Data Management Foundation: Familiarity with core concepts in Master Data Management (MDM), Data Quality, and metadata management.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively under the guidance of senior architects, translating specifications into working solutions.
• Adaptability & Language: Eagerness to learn emerging technologies; strong professional communication skills (English and Spanish proficiency required for Colombia/Mexico locations).
