We are looking for a bilingual and experienced Data and Platform Security Engineer to join our cybersecurity team. This remote position (based in Colombia) requires deep expertise in securing data platforms, applications, and cloud environments.

The successful candidate will help shape and implement strategies for platform security, access control, and data protection. They will work closely with IT, operations, and other security teams to ensure a secure and compliant infrastructure.

Data and Platform Security

• Contribute to the design and ongoing enhancement of security strategies that protect data and platforms, ensuring system and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Enforce data protection policies for sensitive information, both in storage and in transit.
• Support the development of cybersecurity architecture aligned with industry standards (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001).
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify and address risks in systems, platforms, and applications.
• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to integrate secure coding practices and SSDLC principles.
• Stay informed about emerging threats and technologies, and recommend tools and solutions to strengthen platform and data security.

Collaboration & Reporting

• Identify and support the implementation of automation opportunities to improve security processes.
• Drive continuous improvement of responsibilities under your scope.
• Work with cross-functional teams to ensure security practices meet internal and external requirements.
• Assist in evaluating and selecting third-party tools and vendors for data and application security.
• Deliver regular reports and metrics to leadership, providing insights and recommendations for enhancing data and platform protection.

Perfil buscado (h/m)

• Language: Bilingual in English and Spanish (B2 level).
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science; postgraduate studies in cybersecurity are a plus.
• Certifications: Preferred certifications include Application Security, Cybersecurity Architecture, data security frameworks, or Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer.
• Experience:
  • 5+ years in cybersecurity, with at least 3 years focused on data, application, or platform security.
  • Proven experience securing cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP) and enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with secure software development and risk assessment practices.
• Skills:
  • Strong understanding of data and application protection, encryption, access control, and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2, PCI-DSS).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving regulations, technologies, and security trends.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex security challenges.
