Credit Management Specialist
Position Overview

We are seeking a highly qualified Credit Management Specialist to actively participate in the implementation of the company's customer credit policy (credit risk control and collection). The successful candidate will oversee the O2C process, driving end-to-end key performance indicators, maintaining financial integrity, and contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

To succeed in this role, the candidate must have a thorough understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis. He or she must be knowledgeable about internal controls, tax laws, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor the credit portfolio to ensure that it meets risk and return objectives, including analyzing trends and performance metrics:
  • Prepare monthly recommendations for the bad debt provision and or write-offs in compliance with group policy.
  • Identify and document receivables eligible for legal collection, ensuring full compliance with group policies and established procedures.
  • Control open credit notes, unapplied/unidentified, proposing adjustments for suspense accounts based on group policy.
  • Prepare weekly reports on collection activities, performance or credit risk exposure.
  • Work closely with sales, finance, customers service, GBS Costa Rica to enforce credit policy.
  • Lead the credit management meetings and follow up/escalate cases to the corresponding stakeholders and ensure timely resolution of issues.
  • Monitor TBI (To Be Invoiced) to ensure all invoices are issued on time.
  • Follow up on the resolutions of disputes and idles containers.
  • Monitor the implementation and functionality of the AMC platform, providing user support, analyzing usage metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive adoption, optimize processes, and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Participate in developing tools and monitor indicators.
  • Provide local support for customer inquiries, ensuring timely resolution and coordinating with internal stakeholders when escalation is required.
Competences
  • Functional Expertise: Solid understanding of financial principles and strong analytical skills, with good knowledge in data interpretation and financial analysis.
  • Analytical + Problem solving skills: Ability to gather, analyze and develop solutions from diverse information skillfully and solve complex financial problems, dealing with multiple stakeholders.
  • Leadership: Proficient at working autonomously and producing complete, high quality and timely outcomes. Ability to communicate effectively and gain alignment with the different stakeholders.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Ability to explain complex financial information clearly and to build relationships, negotiate, deal and collaborate with different stakeholders across departments.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics or related. Finance specialization is a plus.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of experience in similar functions.
  • Knowledge of customer risk management and applicable financial analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • English: Upper-intermediate (CEFR, B1-B2 level) communication skills in English, both written and spoken.
