A leading logistics company is seeking a Courier to support transportation and delivery of mail and parcels. Responsibilities include loading and unloading vehicles, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring timely deliveries. Candidates should possess strong customer service skills and at least two years of experience in a similar role.

Formación

• Minimum four CXC/CSEC subjects including Mathematics and English.
• Minimum two years’ experience as a Courier or in a logistics role.
• Defensive Driving certification within the last 3 years.

Job Summary

Support Courier processes and activities to enable safe, secure, on-time and accurate transportation and delivery between locations of mail/parcel including local mail, small packages, or legal documents in line with the business strategy and requirements, corporate guidelines and policies and maintaining appropriate records.

Key Tasks

·Support Courier operations to Collect, sort, and distribute/securely store internal and external mail such as letters, packages, legal documents, etc. to maintain the confidentiality of correspondence and meet delivery timelines.

·Load and unload the truck with mail/parcel for pick-up and delivery.

·Use a handheld scanner to record shipping and package information for all documents/packages picked up or delivered.

·Support preventive maintenance of the vehicle and minor in-transit repairs in case of failures.

·Provide administrative support such as safety checks, safe loading/securing load of vehicle, maintenance, etc.

·Keep accurate records and maintain fuel consumption logs and other data as required.

·Handle pick-up payment transactions, including cash, cheques and arrange for settlement of accounts.

·Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, stretching.

·Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned and required.

Qualifications and Competencies

·Minimum four (4) CXC/CSEC subjects, including Mathematics and English

·Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Courier, Driver, or in a logistics role

·Defensive Driving certification within the last 3 years

·Valid Heavy T Class 4 Driver’s License

·Proficiency in English (both written and spoken)

·Computer literate

·Strong customer service skills

·Strong communication and interpersonal skills

·Problem-solving ability

·Attention to detail.

·Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

·Ability to lift and carry heavy items, up to 50lbs.

·Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
