The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Food Service Officer to oversee inmate meal operations in a correctional setting. You will supervise detainees in food preparation, sanitation, and safety while ensuring adherence to company and facility policies.

Responsibilities include coordinating inmate movements, conducting counts, responding to emergencies, and maintaining detailed reports. Training and flexibility to handle high-pressure conditions are essential to success in this role.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Training courses as required by GEO and facility, including ACA training.
• Experience in food service activities, commercial or institutional meal prep preferred.
• College coursework in behavioral sciences or correctional services preferred.
• State requisites for employment may be required.
• Ability to work overtime as required.
• Ability to handle physical and mental stress from long shifts.
• Punctuality and reliability are essential.
• Possession of a valid state driver’s license may be required.
• Maturity, flexibility, and ability to command respect of detainees and staff.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises detainees assigned to Food Services in food prep, cleanup, and sanitation.
• Coordinates detainee movements, conducts counts, and responds to emergencies.
• Conducts shakedowns for contraband and confiscates items per policies.
• Initiates disciplinary reports on detainees.
• Prepares reports and maintains daily logs.
• Assists inmates/detainees in case of injury, illness, or emotional distress.
• Promotes facility safety and cleanliness; reports maintenance needs.
• Serves on special teams for emergencies as required.
• Completes training courses per facility standards.
• Performs other marginal duties as assigned.
