Zimmer Biomet is seeking a senior Lease Accounting Leader to oversee global lease accounting for a portfolio of about 1,500 leases. You will work with business and accounting teams worldwide, applying GAAP principles and ensuring SOX controls are followed.

The role emphasizes strong accounting and research skills, attention to detail, and leadership of the lease accounting team. English communication with European stakeholders is required. Travel is minimal.

Formación

• Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance required.
• 6–8 years of accounting/financial experience.
• Experience with lease accounting preferred.
• Advanced English communication skills.
• Experience in medical devices preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee lease accounting processes in accordance with GAAP.
• Research GAAP for complex lease transactions.
• Maintain lease accounting software and chart of accounts.
• Collaborate with Finance and Real Estate on forecasting and lease-vs-buy decisions.
• Review lease extraction setup and perform monthly close and reconciliations.
• Maintain SOX controls and company policy compliance.
• Communicate with European stakeholders in English and support lease accounting activities.

What You Can Expect

This position is responsible for leading our global lease accounting team. This position requires the successful candidate to work with business and accounting teams across the world to account for their leases. This position requires strong accounting and research skills, and attention to detail. The position will work closely with a Lease Accountant to perform lease accounting for a portfolio of approximately 1,500 leases.

How You'll Create Impact

• Oversees the company’s lease accounting processes consistent with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Research GAAP, as required, for complex lease accounting transactions.
• Maintains the company’s lease accounting software, including chart of account maintenance within the system.
• Work with Finance and Real Estate teams on forecasting and lease versus buy decisions.
• Review lease extraction setup performed by Lease Accountant in company’s lease accounting software.
• Perform monthly close and account reconciliation duties.
• Maintain effective accounting controls and procedures in compliance with SOX 404 and Zimmer Corporate Policy.

What Makes You Stand Out

• 5 to 8 Experience successfully managing and developing financial professionals is preferred.
• English oral and written communication skills are required.
• Must have strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• General ledger accounting.
• Microsoft Office Suite.Advaced Excel skills
• Responsible for driving operational excellence, fostering talent development, and partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to support business objectives.
• Reviews and interprets lease agreements with strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate accounting treatment and compliance with company policies. Effectively communicates and collaborates in English with European stakeholders and cross-functional teams to support lease accounting activities and resolve contract-related inquiries.

Your Background

• Bachelor degree in Accounting/Finance.
• Must have at least 6-8 years of accounting/financial experience
• Experience with lease accounting preferred.
• English advance level required
• Preferable previous experience in medical devices
• Leads and develops the lease accounting team
• Ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with US GAAP and SOX requirements,
• Effective execution of accounting processes, and continuous improvement of controls, systems, and team performance.
