Job summary

The GEO Group, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse Chronic Care to provide comprehensive nursing care in a correctional setting, ensuring adherence to clinical and security standards.

You will perform physical assessments, support physicians, administer medications, and coordinate chronic disease care scheduling. Responsibilities include supervising LPN staff, documenting patient contacts, and maintaining confidentiality of medical records while upholding facility policies and accreditation

Qualifications

• Requires RN license in the state the facility is located
• Two years of direct work experience preferred
• Competence in crisis intervention and medical emergencies
• Ability to perform nursing diagnosis with appropriate follow-through
• Experience with computers and department software

Responsibilities

• Perform complete physical assessment and medical history for detainees entering the correctional system.
• Assist physician with sick calls and minor procedures; refer problems as needed.
• Ensure implementation of physician orders and administer medications as prescribed.
• Conduct observation rounds, document progress, and report issues to management.
• Maintain medication security and confidentiality of medication handling.
• Prepare scheduled and special reports; ensure compliance with policies.
