EPAM Systems, Inc. is seeking a Chief Software Engineer to lead the development of an AI-powered financial assistant platform.

You will direct hands-on engineering across design and delivery in a high-autonomy team, building scalable backend APIs with Python and FastAPI, and integrating LLM capabilities for chat and reporting workflows. You will translate goals into detailed requirements, drive architecture decisions, and mentor engineers, while ensuring reliability, security, and performance.

Formación

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with advanced Python development.
• 7+ years of backend services experience with modern frameworks (FastAPI preferred).
• Senior leadership to drive tech decisions, set quality bars, and mentor engineers.
• Strong project ownership to take loosely defined problems from discovery to delivery.
• Expert system design to define architecture, edge cases, and reliability strategies.
• Strong cloud infrastructure skills with AWS in production environments.
• Platform engineering with Kubernetes-based deployments; IaC with Terraform.
• AI engineering with Large Language Models and Gen AI workflows.
• Advanced English skills (C1).

Responsabilidades

• Build backend APIs and services in Python using FastAPI to support chat and reporting workflows.

• Implement automated testing, observability, and incident-ready practices.
• Deploy and operate services on cloud infrastructure with container orchestration.
• Review code and enforce engineering standards for maintainability and correctness.
• Mentor engineers and drive a culture of accountability, transparency, and excellence.
