Overview

Axmed is a dynamic, mission-driven start-up revolutionizing access to essential medicines in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Through our B2B digital marketplace, we connect global suppliers with healthcare providers, and we provide strategic advisory services, pioneering credit solutions, and solutions to healthcare inequity. We are scaling rapidly and seeking a Chief Financial Officer to build the financial infrastructure that will fuel growth and amplify our global impact.

Role

• Securing Capital: Leading equity, debt, and impact financing rounds, attracting investment from VCs, DFIs, and global health funders.
• Structuring Innovation: Designing and managing innovative financing solutions, including a revolving credit fund to empower healthcare buyers in LMICs.
• Building Scalability: Optimizing our revenue model, ensuring financial sustainability, and navigating complex financial landscapes across multiple geographies.
• Driving Impact: Working closely with the CEO, leadership team, and investors to ensure every financial decision aligns with our mission to improve healthcare equity.
• Building a Legacy: Cultivating a high-performing finance team and establishing robust financial systems to support exponential growth.

What You Bring

• A high-growth finance leader: 12+ years of experience, including 5+ years in a senior finance role (CFO, SVP Finance, or similar), ideally in a startup, marketplace, fintech, or global health organization.
• A hands-on executor: Comfortable building financial models and budgets as well as pitching investors or closing a funding round.
• Deep expertise in corporate finance & capital raising: Led fundraising from VCs, structured debt deals, managed investor funds, and optimized capital allocation at scale.
• Expertise in corporate finance: 7+ years of experience in global accounting and reporting across multiple entities, including transfer pricing and cross-border tax considerations.
• Impact finance & credit tools experience: Understanding of impact investing, credit risk assessment, and blended finance models; bonus points if you have worked with DFIs or health financing institutions.
• Strategic yet scrappy: Able to think big and move fast, balancing financial strategy with execution in a dynamic startup environment.
• Strong communicator & stakeholder manager: Able to engage investors, funders, regulators, and internal teams with clarity and influence.
• Passionate about healthcare equity: Committed to solving access to medicines and using finance as a lever for impact.

Financial Operations & Compliance

• Scale a world-class finance function with robust systems, controls, and processes to support rapid growth.
• Oversight of accounting and reporting activities, including accounts payable/receivable and transfer pricing considerations.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and international regulations as we expand into new geographies.
• Oversee financial reporting, tax strategy, treasury management, and audits to ensure transparency and governance.
• Support business registrations, regulatory approvals, and licensing in new markets.

Investor Relations & Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary financial liaison for investors, DFIs, and global health funders, providing a clear view of financial performance and impact.
• Prepare financial reports, investor decks, and board presentations that communicate growth.
• Foster relationships with banking partners, regulatory bodies, and healthcare stakeholders to support expansion.

Scaling & Leadership

• Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team aligned to growth ambitions.
• Promote a culture of speed, innovation, and execution, with the finance team acting as a strategic enabler of growth.
• Collaborate with operations, technology, and commercial teams to drive financial discipline and support strategic initiatives.
