Job summary

Applaudo seeks a Senior Azure DevOps & Platform Engineer to design and deliver secure Azure platforms using Terraform and CI/CD. You’ll own landing zones, networking, identity, security, governance, and automation across cloud environments.

This contractor role requires US Central Time availability; you’ll collaborate with US stakeholders and guide cross-functional teams in cloud transformation and enterprise DevOps practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 9+ years of hands-on DevOps and cloud experience.
• Experience designing Azure tenant platforms with CAF.
• Terraform IaC experience.
• Azure landing zones for migrations.
• Azure networking knowledge: hub-spoke, Firewall, VPN/ExpressRoute, Private DNS Zones, NSGs, route tables.
• Terraform state management, imports, drift detection, secret management with Key Vault.
• Automation scripting: PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Azure identity and security: Managed Identities, OIDC, RBAC, PIM.
• Compute services: AKS, Container Apps, App Service, Function Apps; Key Vault + ACR.
• Governance via management group inheritance.
• Monitor for performance, security, cost.
• Strong collaboration and stakeholder management.
• English B2+ for US stakeholders.
• Nice-to-have: ADF/Databricks, Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hubs, API Management, Bicep.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Azure tenant platforms aligned with CAF standards.
• Build, deploy, and maintain IaC with Terraform.
• Implement Azure landing zones for migrations.
• Manage CI/CD pipelines, source control, and project workflows with Azure DevOps; environment approvals, gates, container image promotion.
• Review peers’ PRs and handle infra requests in Kanban.
• Automate resource provisioning, scaling, and infra management.
• Develop automation scripts with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
• Implement and manage Azure security controls, IAM configurations.
• Enforce governance and policy across Azure environments.
• Monitor environments for performance, security, cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver infra aligned with requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and operational support to stakeholders.
• Contribute to cloud governance, automation, and operational excellence improvements.
