Fitch Ratings, Inc. seeks an Associate Director to lead corporate, infrastructure and project finance ratings in Colombia. You will serve as a Primary or Secondary Analyst, evaluating issuers and transactions with a focus on energy-sector credits.

You will produce rating reports and committee materials, conduct issuer and market research, and maintain relationships with issuers, sponsors and advisers. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

Competenze

• Five years or more of solid credit experience in finance, ratings, or banking contexts.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting or similar.
• Experience in project finance or corporate credit analysis, preferably related to energy sectors.
• Strong ability to analyze corporates with qualitative and quantitative risk.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and spreadsheet-based analyses.
• Fluent communication in Spanish and English, both written and spoken.

We’ll Count on You To:

• Lead and monitor new and existing corporate and project finance ratings, acting as a Primary or Secondary Analyst in accordance with Fitch’s criteria and processes.
• Conduct in-depth credit analysis of issuers and transactions, including financial, qualitative and legal information, with particular focus on energy-sector and project finance-related credits.
• Conduct issuer, sector and market research, including macroeconomic and microeconomic and peer analysis, to support rating decisions.
• Produce rating reports, committee materials, market commentary and special research for publication
• Participate actively in rating committees, providing independent and well supported credit views.
• Build and maintain active relationships with issuers, project sponsors, investment bankers, financial advisers and other relevant market participants.

What You Need to Have:

• A minimum of five years of solid, relevant credit experience, ideally gained at a credit rating agency, bank or investment bank, consulting or accounting firm, credit-research organization, buy-side credit team, or structuring and advisory firm.
• A bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Accounting or another business-related discipline.
• Experience in project finance and/or corporate credit analysis or the energy sector is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze corporates in depth for the purpose of assigning credit ratings, with a strong understanding of both qualitative and quantitative corporate risk.
• Financial-modelling capability and familiarity with spreadsheet-based financial models.
• Solid writing and verbal communication skills in Spanish AND English.

• Portuguese language skills.
• CFA candidate at any level; or CFA charter holder.
• Ability to read and fully comprehend complex structures and to ask probing questions to issuers and their advisers.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work to tight deadlines and display a strong degree of flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, as required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the confidence to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders.
