Convergint is seeking a full-time Application Support Specialist to join our culture of service excellence. You will contribute to the installation, startup, and optimization of Fire, Security, and Building Automation systems across assigned projects.

Ideal candidates bring basic programming skills, strong engineering aptitude, and a customer-focused mindset. Expect regular site visits, collaboration with a diverse team, and a commitment to quality and safety.

• Basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude; comfortable with hand and power tools.
• Frequent site visits required; valid driver’s license essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up and check-out of projects, from small to medium scope.
• Ensure work aligns with established quality standards.
• Serve as technical support contact for customers to maximize satisfaction with Fire, Security and Building Automation systems.
• Keep projects on budget and on schedule.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Responsible for the application engineering, programming, troubleshooting, start-up, and check-out of assigned installed projects including small to medium projects that are less complex.
• Individuals work shall be in accordance with the established quality standards.
• This role is the technical support contact for our customer and is responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction with installed Fire, Security, and/or Building Automation Systems.
• Ensures projects are effectively executed to budgeted cost and time schedules.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.

What You’ll Need

• Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
• Basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
• Solid mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper).
• Frequent visits to jobsites are required. Minimal overnight travel is required. Valid driver's license required.
• Proficient computer skills including MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel); basic networking & IT skills (Security & Building Automation primarily).

Requirements:

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

Preferred Experience: (but not required):

• 1-3 years low-voltage systems project
• Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation
