• Strong data warehousing architecture knowledge and best practices.
• Hands‑on with Databricks, Lakehouse, cloud analytics on AWS/Azure.
• Strong data federation, ETL/ELT, and modern data design.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, advanced SQL, and Delta Lake optimization.
• Experience with Databricks notebooks, Jobs, DLT, Lakeflow, Unity Catalog, Git.
• Knowledge of Delta Lake performance optimization, data skipping, Z‑ordering, and diagnostics.
• Experience implementing security/compliance controls (PII/PHI, encryption, access).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage priorities, work independently, and collaborate in a matrix environment.
• Excellent English communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead architecture design and implementation of data platforms and analytics across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Develop architectures using AWS and/or Azure services (compute, pipelines, storage, databases).
• Own project architecture design, data modeling, and development standards for analytical apps.
• Create roadmaps to modernize legacy platforms and enable advanced analytics.
• Provide technical leadership to engineering teams through project delivery.
• Establish scalable data integration patterns and platform architecture for enterprise data products.
• Engage in requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, training, and hypercare.
• Ensure architecture solutions align with enterprise standards and best practices.
• Communicate complex concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executives.
• Collaborate with SMEs and functional teams to build data pipelines from structured/unstructured data.
• Drive issue resolution across projects and implementations.
• Design secure patterns (data masking, encryption, IAM, audit logging, compliance).
• Optimize platform performance and cost via workload management, observability, governance.
• Support quality, compliance, regulatory, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Opportunity

This role is based in Colombia and is part of the Information Management organization. The Application Architect will lead the architecture development of robust and scalable data platforms, analytics solutions, and cloud-based applications. This position is responsible for evaluating and influencing the Information Management portfolio used by business units while partnering with stakeholders to design and deliver technology solutions that support strategic business objectives.

The successful candidate will establish architecture standards, modernize legacy platforms, and drive the adoption of cloud technologies across AWS and Azure environments. This role requires strong collaboration with business relationship managers, subject matter experts, IT leadership, and delivery teams to develop innovative and secure solutions that enable advanced analytics and data-driven decision making.

What You’ll Do

• Lead architecture design and implementation of data platforms and analytics solutions across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Develop architectures using AWS and/or Azure services, including cloud compute, data pipelines, file storage, and database services.
• Own project architecture design, data modeling, and implementation standards for analytical applications.
• Create and execute roadmaps to modernize legacy platforms and support advanced analytics and data science initiatives.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineering teams throughout project delivery.
• Establish scalable data integration patterns and platform architecture for enterprise data products.
• Perform activities across project phases including requirements gathering, design, testing, deployment, training, and hypercare support.
• Facilitate business analysis and ensure architecture solutions align with enterprise standards and best practices.
• Create application architecture and development designs that meet business and technical requirements.
• Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive leadership.
• Collaborate with SMEs and functional teams to build data pipelines from structured and unstructured data sources.
• Drive resolution of technical and implementation issues across assigned projects.
• Design and implement secure architecture patterns, including data masking, encryption, identity management, audit logging, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Optimize platform performance and cost through workload management, scalability strategies, observability, and governance practices.
• Support quality, compliance, regulatory, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of experience in IT platform implementation within highly technical and analytical environments.
• Experience architecting large-scale analytics and data platforms using both on-premises and cloud technologies.
• Strong experience in data warehousing architecture and industry best practices.
• Hands‑on experience with Databricks, Lakehouse architecture, and cloud data analytics solutions on AWS and/or Azure.
• Strong knowledge of data federation, ETL/ELT ingestion strategies, and modern data platform design.
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, advanced SQL, and Delta Lake optimization techniques.
• Experience with Databricks notebooks, Jobs, Delta Live Tables (DLT), Lakeflow, Unity Catalog, and Git integrations.
• Knowledge of Delta Lake performance optimization, including OPTIMIZE/VACUUM policies, data skipping, Z‑ordering, file compaction, and query diagnostics.
• Experience implementing security and compliance controls, including PII/PHI protection, encryption, secret management, and access management.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a matrixed environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect and/or Azure Solutions Architect certification.
• Databricks Professional Certification (Architect or Data Engineer).
• Experience working in geographically distributed and cross‑functional teams.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills.
• Knowledge of Software Lifecycle methodologies, Disaster Recovery Planning, Business Impact Assessments, and Change Management processes.
• Experience within regulated environments such as healthcare, life sciences, or FDA‑regulated industries.
