ScotiaTech is hiring a native Android developer to design and build scalable Android applications in Kotlin. You will apply MVVM and SOLID, implement robust security practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with business goals.

You will participate in risk assessments, address vulnerabilities found by SAST/DAST, and contribute to sprint planning and estimation. Strong Kotlin knowledge and Google Play experience are essential.

Formación

• Minimum 4–5 years of proven experience developing native Android applications.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
• Experience publishing and maintaining applications on Google Play.
• In-depth knowledge of Android SDK, Jetpack Components, and MVVM architecture.
• Experience applying SOLID principles and Clean Architecture.
• Data protection and encryption.
• OWASP Mobile security practices.
• Experience addressing vulnerabilities via SAST/DAST and penetration testing.
• Experience integrating REST APIs and secure authentication (OAuth/JWT).

Purpose

Ensure the development of robust, scalable Android applications aligned with business objectives, contributing to technological innovation and the continuous improvement of the user experience.

Accountabilities

• Design and develop native Android applications using Kotlin.
• Define and maintain scalable architectures by applying patterns such as MVVM and SOLID principles.Implement secure development practices, including data protection, secure credential management, and vulnerability prevention.
• Participate in technical risk assessments and propose appropriate mitigation solutions.
• Analyze and remediate vulnerabilities identified through Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), and penetration testing, ensuring compliance with applicable security standards.
• Ensure code quality through code reviews, automated testing, and development best practices.
• Optimize application performance, security, and user experience.
• Integrate applications securely and efficiently with APIs and backend services.
• Actively participate in Scrum ceremonies, including refinement sessions, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including UX/UI, QA, and Product, to ensure deliverables are aligned with requirements.
• Contribute to effort estimation and sprint planning, ensuring realistic commitments.
• Document technical processes and solutions to ensure maintainability and scalability.
• Research and recommend new technologies and tools to keep the technology stack competitive and up to date.
• Take shared ownership of project success, collaborating with the team to meet objectives and deadlines.
