We are looking for a senior AI & Automation Engineer to build and scale an AI Studio supporting a private equity portfolio of approximately 86 companies, primarily across wealth management and financial services.

This person will work closely with PE leadership and portfolio-company executives to identify where businesses are losing time, money, productivity, and revenue, and turn those opportunities into practical AI, automation, analytics, and process-improvement solutions.

This is a builder role combining business strategy, solution architecture, product development, and delivery leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Lead diagnostic assessments across portfolio companies to identify:

• Operational bottlenecks and inefficient workflows
• Revenue and profitability leakage
• Manual processes suitable for automation
• Financial reporting and data opportunities
• High-value use cases for AI agents
• Design and lead solutions across areas such as:
• 13-week cash-flow forecasting
• Financial and board reporting automation
• KPI and profitability dashboards
• Process mining and operational analytics
• AI-powered sales coaching
• Workflow and back-office automation
• Custom AI agents and applications
• Build a repeatable AI and automation framework that can be deployed across multiple portfolio companies instead of developing isolated solutions for every business.
• Define solution architecture, integrations, security, data governance, and responsible AI standards, particularly for sensitive financial and client data.
• Develop business cases and prioritize initiatives based on ROI, revenue impact, cost savings, implementation effort, and scalability.
• Lead projects from discovery and prototype through implementation, adoption, and measurement of business results.
• Build and eventually lead a multidisciplinary team including AI specialists, automation engineers, solution architects, business analysts, and data professionals.
• Present strategies, investment cases, roadmaps, and results directly to PE leadership and portfolio-company executives.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong experience in AI, automation, digital transformation, solution architecture, or technology consulting.
• Experience implementing AI agents, workflow automation, analytics, process mining, or intelligent automation.
• Strong understanding of business operations and financial performance, not just technology.
• Ability to understand a business problem and translate it into a scalable technical solution.
• Experience developing business cases and demonstrating measurable ROI.
• Strong client-facing and executive communication skills.
• Experience building new technology capabilities, products, practices, or Centres of Excellence.
• Experience in private equity, wealth management, financial services, or another regulated industry is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with platforms such as Azure/OpenAI, Microsoft Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Power BI/Fabric, UiPath, Celonis, Salesforce, or Dynamics 365 is advantageous.

Ideal Profile

We are looking for someone who is part strategist, part solution architect, and part builder.

The right person should be comfortable sitting with a CEO or CFO to understand where the business is losing money, working with operational teams to understand processes and data, and then leading a technical team to build and deploy the solution.

They should also understand that not every problem requires AI. The objective is to select the right combination of process improvement, automation, analytics, and AI to generate measurable business value.
