The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. in Bogotá, Colombia seeks an Accounting Manager to oversee financial reporting, tax compliance, and accounting operations within a multinational Shared Services framework.

You will drive internal controls, support strategic decisions with financial insights, and lead audit activities while coordinating with regional and global stakeholders. Fluency in English and a CPA license are required.

Formación

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Colombian Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a valid Professional License.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience including financial reporting, tax, and audit management.
  • Experience in Shared Services Centers and collaboration with regional/global stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of COL GAAP, US GAAP, SOX, and tax regulations.
  • Experience with SAP and CPM tools.
  • Advanced Excel skills and financial reporting proficiency.
  • Experience in cost accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, and internal controls.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management.
  • Advanced English proficiency.

Responsabilidades

  • Lead preparation and review of statutory financial statements under COL GAAP and corporate standards.
  • Oversee accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and month-end close.
  • Manage tax compliance, filings, and reporting obligations.
  • Lead audits and coordinate with stakeholders for regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee payroll accounting, intercompany transactions, and reconciliations.
  • Supervise fixed assets, inventory, cost accounting, and related controls.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory/regulatory reporting and tax authorities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and strengthen internal controls.
  • Partner with regional/global teams to align with accounting policies.

Description

The Accounting Manager will oversee the integrity of financial reporting, statutory compliance, tax reporting, and accounting operations, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and local regulations. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, strengthening internal controls, providing financial insights to support strategic decision-making, leading audit and compliance activities, and safeguarding the Company’s assets while partnering with regional and global stakeholders in a multinational environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and review of statutory financial statements and financial reporting in accordance with local accounting standards (COL GAAP) and corporate requirements.
  • Oversee accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records, reconciliations, and month-end closing processes.
  • Manage tax compliance activities, including the review of tax provisions, filings, and reporting obligations, ensuring adherence to local regulations.
  • Lead internal and external audits, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring timely delivery of information and fulfillment of regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee payroll accounting, intercompany transactions, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supervise fixed assets, inventory, cost accounting, and related controls to ensure accurate financial reporting and asset protection.
  • Ensure compliance with local statutory and regulatory reporting requirements, including interactions with tax authorities and government entities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, strengthen internal controls, and support business decision-making through financial analysis and reporting.
  • Partner with regional and global teams within a multinational Shared Services environment to ensure alignment with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Colombian Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with a valid Professional License (Tarjeta Profesional).
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Accounting, Financial Reporting, Tax Compliance, and Audit Management, preferably within multinational organizations.
  • Proven experience working in Shared Services Centers (SSC) and collaborating with regional and global stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of COL GAAP, US GAAP, SOX, tax regulations, statutory reporting requirements, internal controls, and accounting processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP and Corporate Performance Management (CPM) tools.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Experience in cost accounting methodologies, balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and financial controls.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, develop, and influence cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Advanced English proficiency.
