Coupa is seeking a Sr Enterprise Architect in Bogotá to own the technical design and governance of custom connectors and MCP server portfolios. You will lead integration architecture and provide hands-on technical leadership to the team.

You will define reference architectures, review connector specs, and set security and governance patterns while guiding the engineering roadmap with cross-functional partners. Strong English communication is required.

Formación

• 8+ years in software/integration engineering, with at least 3+ years in an architect/lead role.
• Extensive experience building API integrations/connectors at enterprise scale (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks).
• Strong knowledge of MCP or similar agent-tool-calling frameworks and related transport/schema concerns.
• Proficient in Python or TypeScript/Node.js, with ability to read the other language.

Responsabilidades

• Define reference architecture for MCP servers and connectors, including transport, auth, schema/versioning and observability.
• Review connector specifications for internal and external systems and APIs.
• Establish security and governance patterns: OAuth2 flows, credential management, least-privilege access, audit logging.
• Own technical roadmap and backlog prioritization for the integration team with leadership.
• Provide architecture review and code-level guidance to AI Integration Engineers.
• Evaluate and select platform components for scalability and maintainability.
• Define and enforce testing/eval standards for connector reliability and tool-calling accuracy.
• Act as escalation point for production incidents involving connectors/MCP infrastructure.
• Collaborate with Security, Data Governance, and EA on SOC 2, data residency, and PII handling.

The Impact of a Sr Enterprise Architect at Coupa:

Owns the technical design and governance of Coupa's custom connector and MCP server portfolio. Sets the architecture standards agentic AI systems use to reach internal and third-party systems securely and at scale, and provides hands‑on technical leadership to the integration engineering team.

What You'll Do:

• Define reference architecture for MCP servers and custom connectors: transport (stdio/SSE/streamable HTTP), auth, schema/versioning, error semantics, observability
• Design and review connector specifications for internal systems (Coupa platform, NetSuite, SAP, Workday, Salesforce) and external partner APIs
• Establish security and governance patterns: OAuth2/OIDC flows, credential/secrets management, least‑privilege scoping of agent tool access, audit logging
• Own the technical roadmap and backlog prioritization for the integration team in partnership with the Sr. Director
• Provide architecture review and code‑level guidance to AI Integration Engineers; unblock design decisions
• Evaluate and select platform components (iPaaS, orchestration frameworks, agent SDKs, API gateways) for scalability and maintainability
• Define and enforce testing/eval standards for connector reliability and agent tool‑calling correctness
• Act as technical escalation point for production incidents involving connectors/MCP infrastructure
• Partner with Security, Data Governance, and Enterprise Architecture on compliance requirements (SOC 2, data residency, PII handling)

What You Will Bring to Coupa:

• 8+ years in software/integration engineering, including 3+ years in an architect or technical lead role
• Deep hands‑on experience building API integrations/connectors at enterprise scale (REST, GraphQL, gRPC, webhooks, event streaming)
• Working knowledge of MCP (Model Context Protocol) or comparable agent‑tool‑calling frameworks; understands transport, schema, and session‑lifecycle tradeoffs
• Strong command of at least one of Python, TypeScript/Node.js, and proficiency reading the other
• Practical experience with LLM/agent frameworks (Anthropic/OpenAI SDKs, LangChain/LangGraph, or equivalent) and tool‑calling design patterns
• Solid grounding in identity/auth (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML), API security, and secrets management (Vault, AWS/GCP secret managers)
• Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Experience with enterprise systems integration (ERP, finance, procurement) — Coupa, NetSuite, SAP, or similar is a strong plus
• Excellent written communication in English; able to produce architecture docs and lead design reviews with US/global stakeholders
