Responsibilities:
- Operate and perform thorough inspection of cranes in order to diagnose defects.
- Diagnose, repair and troubleshoot various mobile hydraulic and lattice cranes; repair hydraulic and electrical components.
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear using micrometers and gauges. Reads, understands and interprets operating and parts manuals, blueprints and technical drawings.
- Tests mechanical, electronic, electrical and hydraulic products and equipment after repair or modification to ensure proper operation and compliance with OEM specifications (Original Equipment Manufacturer).
- Prepares for jobs by checking parts and drawings for accuracy and completeness.
- Perform thorough and accurate annual inspections.
- Properly fills out working reports, hours reports, time sheets, hours overviews and expense reports.
- Capable of accomplishing tasks independently without direct supervision.
- Provides excellent customer service.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanics, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field
- Minimum of 2–3 years of hands-on experience in crane maintenance, heavy equipment repair, or mechanical refurbishment
- Proficiency in reading technical manuals and schematics
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems is highly desirable
- Familiarity with workshop safety standards and procedures
- Previous experience in a shop or industrial environment preferrer
Work Environment:
- Primarily based in a workshop or industrial facility dedicated to crane maintenance and refurbishment
- Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and heavy machinery is common
- May require working in confined spaces, elevated platforms, or near large mechanical structures
- Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, helmets, and steel-toe boots is mandatory
- Work may involve standing for long periods, lifting heavy components, and performing physically demanding tasks.
- Collaboration with technical teams, engineers, and safety personnel in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
- Occasional overtime or weekend shifts may be required depending on operational needs.
