Job summary
Bechtel seeks a Senior Legal Counsel based in Santiago, Chile to support the Mining & Metals GBU. The role involves front-end bidding, negotiation, and drafting of high-value contracts.
The candidate will advise on proposals, subcontracts, JVs, and confidentiality agreements while ensuring governance and compliance for projects in Latin America. Requires a law degree with admission as a lawyer and 13–15 years of relevant experience, plus strong English and Spanish language skills; in-house
Qualifications
- Requires a law degree and admission as a lawyer (preferably in Chile or Latin America).
- In-house experience and ability to advise, draft, and negotiate complex contracts.
Responsibilities
- Front-end bidding and negotiating high-value contracts for engineering and project management work.
- Review, preparation and negotiation of contracts and related documents (proposals, subcontracts, JV agreements, confidentiality agreements).
- Provide ongoing support to projects under development after contracts are won and signed.
- Assist governance processes and ensure compliance with internal policies.
