Fluor Constructors is seeking a Design Lead to oversee piping design on complex projects. You will supervise Design Supervisors, Engineers, Designers, and Drafters while delivering cost-efficient, technically sound solutions across all phases of project execution.

You will develop estimates, schedules, and progress reports, plus monitor material quantities and participate in procurement and permitting tasks to ensure project success.

Formación

• Two-year degree or global equivalent required.
• Significant work experience (25+ years) in related field preferred.
• Strong communication with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, and visitors.
• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of local statutes and guidelines.

Responsabilidades

• Lead the piping design team on large projects.
• Supervise Design Supervisors, Engineers, Designers, and Drafters.
• Develop cost-effective total project solutions for discipline design work.
• Develop estimates and schedules, and provide progress reports and workforce forecasts.
• Monitor material quantities and forecasts; review specs and design criteria.
• Participate in procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.

This position has oversight of a specific area, and acts as a representative of the department in ensuring technical accuracy in project execution in all phases. This position serves as Design Lead on assigned projects of difficult complexity design scope.• Provide supervision to Design Supervisors on large projects• Provide guidance/assistance to project Design Engineers, Supervisors, Designers, Specialists, and Drafters• Develop the most cost-effective total project solution for execution of the discipline design work• Develop estimates and schedules, progress reports, including workforce forecasts• Establish, track, and monitor material key quantities; provide analysis and forecasts• Develop and review specifications, including design criteria• Participate in activities associated with equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting• Analyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to problems with varying complexity in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines Piping• Supervise development and checking of complex piping drawings including plot plans, piping plans, isometrics and sketches• Supervise piping input to piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID), update to master P&ID and pipe line list• Supervise and support sub-disciplines consisting of Piping Material Engineering, Piping Material Control, Stress Engineering, and Process Graphics• Other duties as assignedBasic Job Requirements• Accredited two (2) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty-five (25) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-seven (27) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors• Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job• Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner• Knowledge of commercial availability and cost of materials• Practical field experience• Intermediate computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheet and electronic presentation programsOther Job RequirementsPreferred QualificationsWe are an equal opportunity employer.
