Glencore is seeking a Senior SAP BASIS Administrator to support and maintain our global SAP landscape. You will work across S/4HANA, HANA, BW, Fiori, and Cloud ALM, ensuring high availability and performance. The role requires strong collaboration with international teams and a proactive, technical mindset.

Ideal candidates hold 5+ years in SAP BASIS, SAP S/4/HANA certifications, and experience with automotive and industrial contexts. Hybrid work options available in Toronto, Canada or Chile.

• Experience with large, high-availability SAP landscapes and migrations.

• Manage SAP releases and support packages; apply patches.
• Implement and monitor solution using Cloud ALM and SAP Focused Run.
• Troubleshoot HANA DB performance and optimize landscapes.
• Integrate SAP with SuccessFactors and Datasphere connections.
• Maintain on-premise and hyperscaler-hosted SAP environments.

The Team is responsible for supporting and maintaining our global SAP landscape which is hosted in Switzerland with more than 10,000 users globally across our Industrial operations and Marketing offices.

The Main Tasks And Responsibilities Include

• Installing and administering SAP modules, including SAP S/4, HANA, BW, Fiori, Integration Suite (CPI), GRC, Solution Manager, and Java components.
• Management of SAP technical releases and implementation of support packages .
• Understanding and applying technical SAP system landscape strategies, including hyperscaler-hosted landscapes (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid on-premise/cloud architectures.
• Optimizing performance and monitoring SAP systems, leveraging SAP Focused Run and Cloud ALM in addition to Solution Manager.
• Monitoring and maintaining servers, operating systems, databases and middleware required for SAP.
• Understanding and applying technical SAP system landscape strategies.
• Troubleshooting and resolving SAP HANA DB performance issues, including applying patches.
• Optimizing performance and monitoring SAP systems.
• Leveraging SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) knowledge for integrations and enhancements, including SAP BTP ABAP Environment, Cloud Foundry, and Kyma.
• Integrating SAP SuccessFactors with other SAP modules and systems.
• Administering SAP Datasphere and its connectivity into BW/4HANA and S/4HANA landscapes.
• Implementing automation concepts to enhance operational efficiency.

Qualifications And Requirements

• Formal tertiary education qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or similar.
• A minimum of five years of practical experience as an SAP BASIS administrator, ideally in a global context.
• Relevant certifications in SAP S/4, BW, HANA DB, Fiori, Integration Suite, and BTP.
• Experience with the architecture of complex, high-availability SAP landscapes.
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems.
• Extensive familiarity with virtualization platforms, especially VMware.
• Effective communication skills and strong teamwork capabilities.
• Ability to work flexibly under pressure.
• Self-motivated with a proactive work attitude.
• Knowledge of integrating SAP SuccessFactors and administering SAP Fiori.
• Familiarity with automation tools and concepts applicable to SAP environments.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting SAP HANA DB performance issues and applying necessary patches.
• Experience managing on-premise SAP environments and migrating SAP servers.
• Understanding of SAP Solution Manager and Cloud ALM for system monitoring and administration.
• Familiarity with SAP HANA administration and performance tuning.
• Experience with SAP backup and recovery strategies.
• Familiarity with SAP Change Request Management (CHARM) is a valuable addition.
• Exposure to SAP Business AI / Joule or generative AI copilots in developer tooling, along with an understanding of their administration/governance implications.
• Familiarity with SAP Datasphere and modern data fabric concepts
• Understanding of DevOps practices applied to SAP, such as Git-based version control, CI/CD, and Infrastructure as Code.
