Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to own and ship the internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role, and you will develop production systems on top of LLMs rather than training models.

You will work with LangChain/LangGraph and integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs, building agentic workflows and automations across WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our internal CMS to reduce manual hours.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, AutoGen or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use, streaming).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Build agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrate with OpenAI and Anthropic APIs including tool use and function calling.
• Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours across design and development processes.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and CMS.
• MCP server integrations as part of our broader AI stack.
