Job summary

Outlier is seeking a QA Coder to help train AI models by reviewing AI-generated code and scoring model responses. You will also craft clear CS prompts to push the models’ coding capabilities while working remotely on flexible hours.

Role is freelance (1099) with opportunities across multiple regions, and compensation includes base hourly pay up to $34 with incentive components based on project needs and performance. Prior live production code experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from a selective institution.
• Software engineering experience contributing to a live production codebase.
• Ability to articulate complex concepts fluently in written and spoken English.
• Excellent attention to detail including grammar, punctuation, and style guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated code: flag errors, inconsistencies, or quality issues using structured guidelines.
• Rate and rank model responses across dimensions: accuracy, instruction following, and presentation to improve outputs.
• Write computer science questions: develop clear prompts to challenge AI models.
