Phase Consulting seeks an experienced Project Manager to deliver a ~3 Mtpa gold CIP processing plant in Northern Chile. You will lead engineering, procurement, and construction efforts, coordinating multiple engineering disciplines and local vendors to meet Chilean codes and seismic requirements.

The role requires 15+ years in mining/mineral processing projects and fluency in Spanish and English, with willingness to travel to Copiapó, Chile as needed.

Project Manager – Gold Process Plant | Northern Chile

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to support the design and delivery of an approximately 3 Mtpa gold CIP processing plant in Northern Chile (Upcoming project)

This opportunity is suited to a hands-on, decisive Project Manager with significant experience delivering mineral processing plants through engineering and construction, as well as a strong understanding of project execution in Chile.

Location: Copiapo, Chile

Languages: Fluent Spanish & strong professional English

Experience: 15+ years in mining/mineral processing projects preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the engineering and project delivery of a ~3 Mtpa gold CIP processing plant.
• Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction requirements throughout project delivery.
• Drive multidisciplinary engineering teams toward timely decisions and project deliverables.
• Ensure engineering is developed in accordance with applicable Chilean codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Provide oversight of seismic design and compliance requirements, including structural steel, concrete/rebar, equipment foundations, and electrical/substation infrastructure.
• Review and challenge engineering assumptions, calculations, and design decisions where required.
• Ensure designs are practical, constructible, and appropriately coordinated with construction and commissioning requirements.
• Support local procurement and vendor coordination within Chile.
• Interface with engineering disciplines, contractors, vendors, and the project/site team.
• Support site execution and travel to Northern Chile as required.

Ideal Background

• 15+ years of mining/mineral processing project experience, ideally including senior project management responsibilities.
• Proven experience taking a mineral processing plant through design and construction.
• Significant project execution experience in Chile and a strong understanding of local engineering and construction practices.
• Knowledge of Chilean engineering standards, seismic requirements, and approval processes.
• Strong multidisciplinary technical knowledge across civil/structural, mechanical, piping, and electrical disciplines.
• Experience coordinating engineering with procurement, construction, and commissioning.
• Knowledge of the Chilean contractor, supplier, and vendor environment.
• Strong practical and commercial judgement with the ability to make and drive project decisions.
• Fluent Spanish and strong professional English.

Experience with gold CIP/CIL processing plants is highly desirable. However, candidates with strong experience delivering comparable gold/copper concentrators, hydrometallurgical plants, or other complex mineral processing facilities will also be considered.
