Formación

  • Required to undertake on the job training and induction.
  • Required to undertake Prevention, Assessment & Management of Violence & Aggression (PaMOVA) training level 1 and 2.
  • Working knowledge Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks.

The Role

To carry out planned and reactive tasks involving the movement of patients and a range of goods and equipment efficiently and effectively ensuring the safety and consideration of patients, staff, visitors and all users of NHS Lanarkshire services are adhered to. Control car parks across the site identifying and taking action identified by NHS Lanarkshire e.g stickering unauthorised/ inappropriately parked vehicles and to work alongside and support new staff in the working environment

What we'll need you to bring
  • Required to undertake on the job training and induction (this will generally take 4-6 weeks, depending on hours/days worked), to achieve full competency across a range of duties.
  • Required to undertake Prevention, Assessment & Management of Violence & Aggression (PaMOVA) training level 1 and 2
  • Working knowledge Health & Safety including participation in risk assessing individual tasks
  • Undertake mandatory Health Care Support Workers (HCSW) Standards
  • Undertake NHS Lanarkshire compulsory training
  • Undertake and complete NHSS Portering Services Workbook.
  • Ability to work with people and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to carry out assigned tasks effectively in a busy environment
  • Working knowledge of basic information technology

Please note this is a fixed term post until 2/11/2026. Where a post only has temporary funding and an existing member of NHS Lanarkshire staff wishes to apply, this will be treated as a secondment. The employee MUST already have written agreement from their line manager to be released on a secondment before applying for the post.

Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Portering within University Hospital Monklands

The working pattern for this role will consist of working any 5 days over 7 including Backshift and Nightshift patterns
