TRACTEBEL is seeking a Mechanical Lead to supervise mechanical installations for a critical infrastructure and data center project. You will coordinate MEP disciplines on-site, ensuring technical compliance, safety, and quality across HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, fire alarm, and BMS/Controls systems.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in mechanical/construction on large-scale projects, with at least 5 years in data center environments, and fluent Spanish/English communication.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 10 years in mechanical engineering/construction on large-scale projects, with at least 5 years in Data Center construction or mission-critical facilities.
• Proven leadership of MEP teams, contractors, and subcontractors on complex projects.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, and BMS/Controls systems.
• Experience in construction, pipe flushing, testing, and full-cycle commissioning (Levels 1–5).
• Familiarity with BIM, CAD, Forma; LEED AP or PMP are advantageous.
• Proficiency in Spanish and English to communicate complex engineering concepts.

• Support planning and sequencing of mechanical construction and commissioning.

Your Mission

As a Mechanical Lead, you will lead the supervision and coordination of mechanical installations for the project, ensuring proper execution, quality, technical compliance, and integration of critical mechanical systems within a Data Center or mission-critical facility. You will work closely with the client, engineering teams, contractors, subcontractors, and other MEP disciplines to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and support to the project management and construction teams on mechanical matters.
• Lead and supervise mechanical construction and installation activities on site.
• Coordinate mechanical installations with other MEP disciplines and project trades.
• Supervise the technical integration of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, and BMS/Controls systems, including logic and automation integration.
• Coordinate and supervise contractors and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with drawings, technical specifications, construction procedures, and quality standards.
• Oversee construction activities, including pipe flushing, testing, inspections, and full-cycle commissioning (Levels 1–5).
• Identify, coordinate, and resolve technical interfaces, clashes, and construction issues during project execution.
• Participate in technical meetings with clients, engineering teams, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Support the planning, sequencing, and coordination of mechanical construction and commissioning activities.
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements and applicable project standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering and/or construction on large-scale projects, with at least 5 years of experience specifically in Data Center construction, preferably hyperscale, or other mission-critical facilities.
• Proven experience leading and managing MEP teams, contractors, and subcontractors on complex construction projects.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Fire Alarm, and BMS/Controls systems.
• Proven experience in construction, pipe flushing, testing, and full-cycle commissioning (Levels 1–5).
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control procedures related to MEP installations.
• Familiarity with BIM, CAD, Forma, and other relevant engineering and construction tools is required.
• Relevant industry certifications such as LEED AP, PMP, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
• Professional proficiency in both Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate complex engineering concepts fluently in both languages.
• Ability to work on-site in a construction environment and in multicultural teams.
