Job Summary:

In this role, you will conduct field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project’s control systems aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, and evaluation of control systems components and processes. Your recommendations will resolve technical issues and ensure unique and complex requirements of a project’s control systems aspects are met.

Major Responsibilities:

Level 1

  • Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard Control Systems engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.
  • Participating in the design, development and modification of mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
  • Coordinating Control Systems engineering efforts in assigned areas with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, the client, vendor, contractors, construction and other functional groups.
  • Preparing conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.
  • Providing technical assistance to other Control Systems personnel and interacting with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.
  • Aiding project and construction management in identifying and complying with project Control Systems requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution.

Level 2

  • Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard Control Systems engineering methods, techniques, procedures and criteria for a small size project or assignment in support of a global business unitor staff group to include the preparation of original designs layouts, details, drawings and specifications.
  • Designing, developing, modifying, and evaluating mechanical components and processes utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).
  • When delegated, providing guidance to other Control Systems engineering personnel for specific tasks or projects.
  • Mentoring and assisting more junior Control Systems team members.
  • Completing Control Systems documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance
  • Selecting components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Level 1

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

Level 2

  • Requires a bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Knowledge of Control Systems.
  • Knowledge of Communication networks.
  • Knowledge Fiber Optic.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity.
  • Adaptable to changes, initiative, problem solving, responsible and teamwork.
