Atlas Renewable Energy is seeking a senior H&S Manager based in Santiago, Chile, to lead health and safety across the company’s operations. What are we looking for?

We are looking for a H&S Manager based in Santiago (Chile). This role leads health and safety (H&S) across Atlas's renewable energy operations in Chile. The manager develops, implements, and oversees safety programs to minimize risk, protect employee wellbeing, and build a strong safety culture — ensuring full regulatory compliance and driving continuous improvement.

As Atlas Chile's senior-most H&S authority, the manager serves as the final technical reference on occupational safety, with special ownership of electrical risk across construction and O&M activities. Rather than relying on enforcement alone, the role drives safety culture through influence — building a network of safety champions among staff and contractors — with training as the core tool for building competence, shaping behavior, and reinforcing accountability at every level.

What challenges will you face?

• Develop, implement, and continuously improve H&S policies and management systems, ensuring compliance with Chilean law, Atlas standards, and international requirements.


• Integrate H&S into every phase of the project lifecycle — development, construction, commissioning, and operations.


• Partner closely with project, construction, operations, and contractor teams to identify risks and close performance gaps.


• Own the electrical safety program end-to-end: energized work authorization, LOTO, arc flash/shock risk assessments, PPE, and competency management for high- and medium-voltage work.


• Review, approve, and audit contractor H&S and electrical safety programs before and during mobilization.


• Lead H&S inspections, audits, and assurance activities, driving corrective and preventive actions.


• Lead incident/near-miss investigations using root cause analysis, embedding lessons learned into operations.


• Design and maintain the annual training and competency framework (induction, technical qualifications, refreshers, competency verification) for employees and contractors.


• Deliver key training and coaching, developing site leaders as safety trainers and role models.


• Build and sustain a network of safety champions across Atlas and contractor organizations.


• Drive safety culture maturity through leading/lagging indicators (behavioral observations, near-miss reporting, training completion, incident trends).


• Coach managers/supervisors on visible safety leadership and consistent application of standards.


• Maintain accurate H&S records, metrics, audits, and regulatory documentation.


• Prepare executive-level reports and presentations for senior management, investors, and partners.


• Monitor regulatory developments and industry best practices to ensure continuous improvement.

What specific knowledge do you need?

• At least 5 years of exposure in construction/ operation environments as manager.


• Background in management and field works.


• Background in managing HS compliance.


• OSHA standards and experience in corporate management of construction and operations sites.


• Experience conducting risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.


• Health and safety regulations and best practices, particularly in the renewable energy sector or similar industries.


• Demonstrated experience managing electrical risk in high- and medium-voltage environments (substations, collector systems, inverters, energized works), including LOTO and arc-flash programs.


• Working knowledge of the Chilean H&S regulatory and experience interacting with local authorities and mutual insurance bodies.


• Proven experience designing and delivering H&S training programs at scale for both direct employees and contractor workforces.
