Blacksmith Agency is a fully remote US digital agency with 30–40 people, offering websites, SEO, paid media and branding. As Finance and Operations Lead you own finance end to end, plus the people operations that go with it, reporting straight to ownership as the senior finance person. You run it on your own.

The role is remote (Latin America or South Africa) with full-time commitment and overlap with US business hours. Experience in services or agency finance is a plus.

Qualifications

• Strong Google Sheets or Excel skills for modelling and closes,
• Experience with QuickBooks or Xero for bookkeeping and controls,
• Clear written and spoken English to report to ownership and collaborate across teams.

Responsabilités

• Own finance end-to-end including close, cash, payables and receivables.
• Lead FP&A: revenue, margins, cash flow models and forecasts.

About The Role

As Finance and Operations Lead you own finance end to end, plus the people operations that go with it, reporting straight to ownership as the senior finance person. You run it on your own.

What You Will Own

• Finance: clean books with our bookkeeper, the monthly close, cash, payables, receivables and controls.
• FP&A: revenue, margin and cash flow models and forecasts, monthly actual versus forecast, unit economics and the capacity model that says when to hire.
• People operations: onboarding and offboarding for a remote team across several countries, contracts, payroll setup, access in and out.
• Plain answers for ownership on where the business stands and what to do about it.

What You Need

• You have run finance yourself: built the models, owned the close and answered to ownership for the numbers.
• Independent and driven. Nobody hands you a checklist.
• Strong Google Sheets or Excel, QuickBooks or Xero, and clear written and spoken English.
• Full time as your only job, with substantial overlap with US business hours. Services or agency finance is a plus.
