Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking a senior Design Systems Engineer to own the way client design systems are built. You’ll extract patterns from brands and reference sites into tokens, variables, modes, and core components that a build pipeline can execute reliably.

This is a remote, Latin America-friendly role requiring strong English and the ability to overlap US business hours while delivering systems that scale across multiple client brands with rigorous consistency.

Qualifications

• 4+ years designing for the web, with real design system work in your portfolio.
• Fluency in Figma variables, component properties, auto layout, and variants. Actual architecture, not just tidy files.
• A portfolio where the work looks different from client to client but the rigor underneath is the same.
• Strong English and overlap with US business hours.

Responsibilities

• Build token architecture in Figma using variables, modes, and semantic naming our pipeline can read predictably.
• Ship core component libraries that hold up across an entire site, not just a homepage.
• Document the system so a developer or an automated pipeline can execute it without questions.
• Work across several client brands at once, each looking distinctly different, with the same structural rigor.
