Job Description - Automation Expert Solution Specialist (009EOY)

Automation Expert Solution Specialist - 009EOY

We are looking for a highly skilled and strategic technical solutions specialist to join our Centre of Excellence (COE) and play a key role in driving enablement and adoption of EcoStruxure Automation Expert (EAE). This position will work closely with our sales teams to provide deep technical expertise to our customers and partners, as well as advanced troubleshooting to support the successful implementation of EAE into customer solutions.

This role requires deep technical expertise and a strong ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and business stakeholders. It is responsible for supporting country sales teams in winning more business on EAE and assisting customers throughout their project development cycle using EAE:

  1. Provide technical pre-sales support: Assist sales teams with automation & control system architectures to accelerate sales growth and increase opportunity conversion rates using EAE.
  2. Serve as a technical SME: Define and implement optimal automation & control system architectures with EAE at customer sites.
  3. Identify technical requirements: Work with customers to determine constraints and recommend solutions supporting EAE adoption.
  4. Demonstrate technical advantages: Explain benefits and limitations of proposed architectures using EAE.
  5. Create solutions and demos: Develop architecture solutions and support sales efforts by showcasing EAE's value.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, driven with a “must win” mindset, and capable of working independently or collaboratively within a matrix organization. Influencing and motivating others without direct authority is essential. The candidate should be an early adopter, bringing technical intensity and commercial acumen to drive sales growth, understanding the crucial role of technical teams in the sales cycle.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, IT programming, or Code development.
  • Embedded Software Engineer background with a strong IT focus is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of IIOT and the convergence of IT and OT.
  • Experience with Object-Oriented Programming, Windows and Linux environments, Docker/Kubernetes, Virtualization, Event-driven methodologies, and C# for HMI integration.
  • Networking experience with LAN, WAN, VLAN, Managed Switches, Routers, and protocols like TCP/IP, Modbus, EthernetIP, Profinet, HTTPS, MQTT.
  • Ability to develop code and design system architectures suitable for industrial applications on the factory floor.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT, PROFINET, EtherNet/IP.
  • Deep expertise in PLC programming, SCADA/DCS, and industrial networking.
  • Experience designing and deploying large-scale automation solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively to engineers, customers, and executives.
  • Minimum of 5 years in automation solution development and programming.

This role may require approximately 30-50% travel.
