The Bureau of Meteorology is seeking adventurous individuals for a 12-19 month remote posting to Antarctica, supporting Surface and Upper Air Observations. As a Technical Officer Level 2 Weather Observer, you will join a seven-day roster at Casey, Davis or Mawson stations, collecting meteorological data and maintaining instruments to ensure continuous service.

You will perform aviation observations, contribute to forecasting services and report any outages via the asset management system.

Formación

• Experience delivering surface and upper-air weather observations.
• Ability to work on a seven-day roster in remote polar stations.
• Experience with aviation weather observations is a plus.
• Willingness to deploy to Antarctica for 12–19 months.

Responsabilidades

• Deliver Surface and Upper Air Observations at assigned station.
• Observe and record Antarctic meteorology data.
• Perform Aviation Observations to support air operations.
• Maintain meteorological instrumentation and document outages.
