Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is hiring an AI Software Engineer to own and ship our internal automation roadmap. You will build production systems on top of AI models, not train them, working closely with engineering and leadership to turn documented automation into shipped solutions.

You will implement agentic workflows, integrate with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs, and develop internal tools that cut manual work across the delivery pipeline.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building production software with Python or Node.js.
• Hands-on experience with LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI or similar agent frameworks.
• Proven API integration work with OpenAI or Anthropic (function calling, tool use).
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, webhooks and basic cloud deployment.
• English sufficient for async written work with a US-based team.

Responsibilities

• Build production automation workflows with LangChain/LangGraph and agent frameworks.
• Integrate with OpenAI/Anthropic APIs including tool calls and streaming.
• Develop internal tools to reduce manual hours across design and development processes.
• Create automation pipelines connecting WordPress, Figma, Google Workspace and our CMS.

About The Role

Blacksmith Agency is building an AI automation layer into every part of how we work. As AI Software Engineer at Blacksmith, you own and ship our internal automation roadmap. This is a builder role, not a research role. You will not be training models, you will be building production systems on top of them.

You work directly with engineering and delivery leadership to take a documented roadmap of automation workflows and turn them into shipped, working systems. This role is for someone who has already built things with LLMs and can show it.

What You Will Build

• Agentic workflows using LangChain, LangGraph or equivalent frameworks.
• Integrations with Anthropic and OpenAI APIs including tool use and function calling.
