About the Role – The VP Group Quality & EOHS fosters a pervasive quality culture across the company, ensuring alignment with the company's mission statement. This leader develops and executes a strategic quality plan in partnership with the two Divisions of Burckhardt Compression – Systems (SYST) and Services (SERV), and with the Executive Management Team, driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. Additionally, the incumbent has operational responsibility for Quality & EOHS for the SYST Division and its legal entities within the Group framework.
Responsibilities
- Cultivate a culture of Quality and Safety through projects and actions aligned with the company mission statement.
- Design and implement dashboards for effective reporting.
- Global coordination of relevant Quality-related activities between global functions and legal entities.
- Design and implement mental health campaigns to improve the mental and physical wellbeing of group employees.
- Address client quality requirements by identifying process controls and mobilizing the organization to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Improve supplier quality by identifying and encouraging enhancements.
- Analyze data to identify improvement opportunities in processes, products, projects, and production.
- Support and actively join the R&D gate review process.
- Study and document processes, identifying opportunities to automate or eliminate steps for improved turnaround time.
- Document improvement action plans for processes, products, projects, and production.
- Lead project review meetings to evaluate progress and ensure alignment with goals.
- Establish Quality Assurance Plans for both existing and new projects and products.
- Coordinate with internal teams to drive quality-related actions.
- Ensure root cause analysis of errors are conducted and action plans prepared.
- Support facilitation, training of involved employees on product quality topics and customer quality issues resolution.
- Implement, maintain, and enhance the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001 standards at Burckhardt Compression in Switzerland (BCAG) and other assigned legal entities.
- Safeguard assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction, or interference.
- Organize and conduct internal and external audits at BC to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
- Manage Quality function and provide functional leadership within a divisional and regional matrix.
Qualifications and Required Skills
- University Degree preferably in Engineering.
- Demonstrated and extensive experience in Quality and Supplier Quality at both operational and strategic level.
- Solid exposure to companies operating at global level in both established and emerging markets.
- Proven experience in a similar industry in both QMS and in EOHS.
- Consolidated ability to lead a large team in different locations and across different cultures.
- Proficient in English spoken and written.
- German and other languages advantageous.
- Leadership skills with ability to inspire and influence a large organization towards the achievement of ambitious goals.
- Ability to work in a matrix and across different cultures and hierarchical levels.
- Detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive mindset, team-focused approach and proven leadership track record, including people development and project management.
