Qualifikationen

• Technical degree in mechanics or production engineering.
• 5+ years in cost engineering, value engineering, or strategic procurement.
• Experience with cost modelling and supplier cost analysis.
• Fluent in English; German preferred (or strong German + B1 English).

• Lead cost estimation activities (should-cost, cost modelling, top-down/bottom-up analyses).
• Analyze tooling and part costs for mechanical/electronic components.
• Maintain cost databases.
• Support Design-to-Cost projects and ensure cost-effective outcomes.
• Identify VA/VE opportunities to optimize total product cost.
• Provide analytical input for supplier negotiations with fact‑based insights.
• Conduct cost audits for accuracy and compliance.
• Develop cost models to support early design decisions (DfM, DfSC).
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, Sales to gather data and assess risks.
• Report on cost saving initiatives and support central decision‑making (budgeting, benchmarking, make‑or‑buy).

Overview In this role you drive cost visibility and optimization for engineered products. You will lead cost estimation, modelling, and design‑to‑cost activities in collaboration with Engineering, Procurement and Sales. You’ll validate supplier cost structures, support negotiations with data‑driven insights, and identify VA/VE opportunities to reduce total product cost. The position sits at the intersection of design, sourcing and cost governance, shaping product economics and supplier performance. You will work in an international, cross‑functional setting to enable smarter decisions and value creation.
