Job summary

Pictet in Geneva seeks a Technical Business Analyst to bridge business needs and IT delivery in a fast-paced banking tech environment. You will translate complex requirements into functional specs for ETD and OTC trading, settlements and reconciliation, collaborating with product managers and engineers in an Agile setup.

You'll analyse processes, contribute to solution design using APIs, cloud tech and AI, and ensure quality through testing, documentation and production support.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Strong technical understanding of software development, ideally including PL/SQL, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Experience with Avaloq customization is a strong advantage.
• Experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language is highly desirable.
• Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and a keen interest in AI-enabled solutions, automation and data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills; fluent in French and English.

As part of theSoftware Engineering team, whose mission is to provide the Group’s banking business lines with tools dedicated to transaction management, you will help design innovative new features and enhance existing applications in an Agile environment. You will work closely with engineers and business stakeholders to build cloud-ready, data-driven solutions, leveraging AI to boost productivity.

Your role

• Act as the primary interface between business stakeholders and IT teams, gathering, challenging and translating requirements into clear functional and technical specifications, particularly in ETD trading, OTC trading, settlement and reconciliation, and interbank messaging.
• Work closely with the product manager to support product discovery and product strategy through the analysis of business challenges, operational constraints and business opportunities.
• Translate business needs into functional and non-functional requirements (epics, user stories, acceptance criteria), ensuring traceability to business objectives and contributing to solution feasibility assessments with architects and the development team.
• Collaborate closely with developers and architects to design solutions leveraging modern architectures, including APIs, event-driven patterns, cloud technologies, AI and advanced analytics capabilities.
• Configure and implement business requirements, perform and/or coordinate testing activities (functional, regression and user acceptance testing), and maintain up-to-date documentation and release notes.
• Support backlog refinement and sprint planning, clarify requirements with developers, QA engineers and DevOps teams, and contribute to the timely and high-quality delivery of product increments.
• Ensure the reliability and availability of solutions in production, monitor application performance and system behaviour, and coordinate deployment activities.
• Analyse and resolve production incidents (L2/L3 support), perform root cause analysis and collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to implement sustainable fixes and continuous improvements.
• Provide support to business stakeholders in Switzerland and abroad, gather feedback and translate it into continuous product improvements.
• Collaborate closely with Pictet Technologies Portugal and other internal partners to ensure end-to-end alignment across teams and platforms.

Your profile

• Master’s degree in Business Information Systems, Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Strong technical understanding of software development, ideally including PL/SQL, combined with the ability to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
• Hands-on experience with Avaloq customisation would be a strong advantage.
• Experience with Java or another object-oriented programming language is highly desirable.
• Practical exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, AWS or GCP) and a strong interest in AI-enabled solutions, automation and data-driven decision-making.
• Strong business acumen and a solid understanding of banking products, processes and transaction lifecycles.
• Experience working in Agile and product-oriented organisations, ideally in close collaboration with product managers, UX specialists and technical leads.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse and demanding stakeholders.
• Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written.
• Residence in Switzerland is required.
