Hapa AG, part of Coesia, invites applications for the Team Leader PLC Software Engineering role in Volketswil, Switzerland. You will lead the PLC software team and contribute hands‑on as a senior PLC software engineer to deliver safe, compliant, and innovative printing automation solutions.

The role focuses on modular PLC software development under IEC 61131-3, Structured Text, with expertise in B&R Automation Studio; familiarity with GAMP 5 and EN ISO 13849 is advantageous.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Engineering (B.Sc./M.Sc.) or equivalent in automation, mechatronics or electrical engineering.
• Several years of leadership experience in a similar PLC software role.
• Deep knowledge of modular PLC software development per IEC 61131-3, Structured Text.
• GAMP 5 experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of safety functions per EN ISO 13849.
• Cybersecurity knowledge (prEN 50742, IEC 62443, CRA) is advantageous.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English.

The Team Leader PLC Software Engineering is responsible for the personnel and technical leadership of the PLC Software Engineering team while contributing hands‑on as a Senior PLC Software Engineer. The role combines team development, software engineering, product lifecycle management and customer‑specific solutions, ensuring compliance with applicable GxP and GAMP 5 guidelines, defined technical standards and business objectives.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Personnel and technical leadership of the 4-member PLC software team, combined with hands‑on activity as a PLC Software Developer.
• Development of PLC software within product development projects, product maintenance, and customer projects in an interdisciplinary environment, considering functional, safety, and time requirements.
• Evaluation of new technologies and methods.
• Design and implementation of processes and guidelines for PLC software development and its documentation.
• Support provided to:
• Sales: Evaluation and review of change requests.
• Assembly: Development and training of commissioning procedures.
• Hotline: 3rd level support assistance.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Degree in Engineering (B.Sc./M.Sc.), e.g., Automation, Mechatronics, Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Several years of professional and leadership experience in a comparable function.
• In-depth knowledge of modular PLC software development according to IEC 61131-3, specifically Structured Text, preferably with B&R Automation Studio.
• Sound knowledge of software development methodologies; GAMP 5 experience is an advantage.
• Sound knowledge in defining and implementing safety functions according to EN ISO 13849.
• Knowledge in the field of cybersecurity is an advantage (prEN 50742, IEC 62443, CRA).
• Analytical, structured, and methodical approach.
• Resilient, independent, and strong team player.
• Excellent written and spoken German and English skills are mandatory.
