Zusammenfassung

Siemens Schweiz AG in Switzerland is seeking a Team Lead Project Management Rail Infrastructure to lead, develop, and empower a team of Project Managers while continuing to manage selected complex rail infrastructure projects yourself.

You will drive project excellence, foster collaboration, and ensure successful delivery of strategic customer projects in a flexible work environment with a 40-hour week and generous vacation.

Qualifikationen

  • 10+ years of project management experience in rail infrastructure or large-scale projects.
  • Experience leading project teams and professionals.
  • IPMA Level B certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in international project environments; software-intensive projects a plus.
  • Fluent in German and English; French/Italian are advantageous.
  • Higher education in Engineering (Master) or related technical discipline.

Aufgaben

  • Lead and develop a team of approximately 12 Project Managers.
  • Provide guidance and ensure application of PM standards and best practices.
  • Own selected complex rail infrastructure projects delivering on scope, schedule and budget.
  • Build relationships with customers, operators, suppliers, contractors and stakeholders.
  • Drive risk, opportunity, contract and claim management with governance.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, resources, finances, and delivery quality.
  • Contribute to strategic development of the PM organization and talent growth.

As Team Lead Project Management Rail Infrastructure, you will combine leadership responsibilities with hands‑on project delivery. In this role, you will lead, develop, and empower a team of Project Managers while continuing to manage selected complex rail infrastructure projects yourself. You will play a key role in driving project excellence, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the successful delivery of strategic customer projects.

You are an inspiring leader with a strong project management background, capable of balancing people development, business priorities, and operational execution in a versatile and interesting environment.

Your Responsibilities
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of approximately 12 Project Managers, fostering a high‑performance culture built on collaboration, accountability, continuous learning, and employee engagement.
  • Provide guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring consistent application of project management standards, methodologies, and best practices across the organization.
  • Take ownership of selected complex rail infrastructure projects, ensuring successful delivery with respect to scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, railway operators, suppliers, contractors, and internal stakeholders, acting as a trusted partner and escalation point when required.
  • Drive proactive risk, opportunity, contract, and claim management while ensuring effective project governance, transparency, and compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor project portfolio performance, resource utilization, financial results, and delivery quality, implementing improvement measures to enhance operational excellence and business performance.
  • Contribute to the strategic development of the Project Management organization by strengthening capabilities, promoting knowledge sharing, and supporting talent growth within the team.
Your Profile
  • Higher education in Engineering (Master) or a related technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of project management experience in rail infrastructure or large‑scale infrastructure projects, including responsibility for complex customer projects.
  • Several years of experience in leading, coaching, or developing project teams and professionals.
  • IPMA Level B certification (IPMA Level A or equivalent is an advantage).
  • Experience in international project environments; experience with software‑intensive projects is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence across all organizational levels.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, high level of ownership, and the ability to balance strategic priorities with hands‑on execution.
  • Fluent in German and English; French and/or Italian are an advantage.
