Zusammenfassung

CERN’s Radioactive Beam Production section is seeking a Material Scientist, Materials Engineer, Chemist, or related specialist to advance the development of target materials for radioactive ion beam production at ISOLDE.

You will work on development, characterization, and production in the upcoming chemical and nano laboratories, collaborating with teams across materials science, chemistry, nuclear physics, and atomic physics to push the frontier of radioactive ion beam generation.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in materials science, chemistry, or related field.
  • Up to 2 years of professional experience since graduation.
  • No PhD and no CERN fellow/graduate contract previously.
  • Eligible nationalities: CERN member or associate member states; restrictions per Article II.5.

Aufgaben

  • Develop, characterize, and produce innovative target materials for radioactive ion beam production.
  • Work at the interface of materials science, chemistry, nuclear physics, and atomic physics.
  • Contribute to next-generation target materials for ISOLDE facility.
