Qualifications

Grand Island Public Schools has an ongoing need for Substitute Teachers. Substitute teachers need a substitute certificate from the Nebraks Department of Education.

Compensation

Wage for substitutes with a Nebraska Teaching Certificate, a State Substitute Certificate or a Local Substitute certificate is $193.44per8 hour day.

Wage for retired teachers is $208.56per 8 hour day.

Long term pay (10 days or more in the same position) is $227.52per 8 hour day and $266.96per 8 hour day for retired teacher substitutes.

There is an incentive of $182.03when a substitute works 85% of available days per pay period.

Substitutes will also be awarded $1,112.27annually for working 125 days or more.
