ETH Zurich's Center for Security Studies invites applications for a Student Assistant for Strategic Trends 2027. In this fixed-term role (Nov 2026–Apr 2027) you will collaborate with editors, authors and a graphic designer to prepare graphics for the analytical volume and help identify sources and prepare infographics.

You must be enrolled at a Swiss university, have strong analytical skills and excellent English; a background in international relations and data visualization is desirable.

The Center for Security Studies (CSS) at ETH Zurich is a center of competence for Swiss and international security policy. It offers security policy expertise in research, teaching, and consulting activities.

Job description

• You will contribute to the publication of Strategic Trends 2027 and work closely with the editors, authors, and graphic designer to prepare graphics for individual analytical chapters. This will include identifying suitable sources and databases; collecting data for infographics and preparing them for design; and graphics and general proofreading.
• You will also support the outreach and promotional activities following the publication of the volume.

It is a fixed-term position (November 2026 through April 2027).

Profile

• You have to be enrolled at a Swiss university.
• Excellent analytical skills and high proficiency in English are essential.
• A background in international relations and proficiency in statistics and data visualization is desirable.
