Job summary

ABB is seeking a Strategy & Business Development Intern (80-100%) in Baden, Switzerland. You will join the global strategy and business development team within Electrification Service, performing strategy development, horizon scanning, and diligence for inorganic growth opportunities.

The role offers exposure to M&A, venture capital, and strategic partnerships in a fast-paced, international environment with a LI-Hybrid working model.

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
• Strong analytical skills with ability to synthesize complex information into clear output
• Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; ability and experience in building financial models and presentations from scratch
• Genuine interest in strategy and business development, M&A and venture capital

Responsibilities

• Support strategy development by conducting horizon scanning, trend analysis, and opportunity identification in electrification and energy transition, synthesizing insights into strategic priorities and recommendations
• Source and screen inorganic growth opportunities (M&A targets, VC investments, and strategic partnerships)
• Conduct analysis of potential targets covering market positioning, technology differentiation, financial profile, and strategic fit, develop detailed target profiles, business cases, and investment briefs
