Job summary

Hexagon Robotics is seeking a Staff Robotics Engineer to design and develop robust software on embedded Linux, closely interfacing with hardware and cross-functional teams to move humanoid robots from prototype to production.

You will guide the team in whole-body control, implement and test controllers on real robots, and develop scalable training pipelines for reinforcement and imitation learning, in a multicultural, startup-spirited R&D division.

Qualifications

PhD or MSc in robotics, computer science, or related field.
5+ years building planning and control algorithms for robotics products.
Experience with planning, control, ML-based methods.
Strong Python and C++ programming skills.
Familiarity with ROS2 and Omniverse environments.

Responsibilities

Guide the team in applying state-of-the-art algorithms for whole-body control of humanoid robots.
Hands-on implementation and testing of whole-body controllers on robots.
Develop scalable training pipelines for reinforcement and imitation learning.
Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to bring prototype to production.
Participate in an R&D division with startup spirit and iterative problem solving.

Established in 2025, Hexagon Robotics develops humanoid robots for industrial sectors to address labor shortages and enable the transition from automation to autonomy. We are looking for an Staff Robotics Engineer to design and develop robust, scalable software running on embedded Linux, working close to the hardware and collaborating across multi-disciplinary teams to bring our humanoid robots from prototype to production.

Your Mission

Guide the team in applying state-of-the-art algorithms for whole-body control of humanoid robots
Hands‑on implementation of whole-body controllers, including testing and evaluation on robots
Develop scalable training pipelines for reinforcement / imitation learning
Work in a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment developing a novel robot from prototype to serial production
Team-oriented, problem-solving and creative thinking to push boundaries of cutting‑edge technologies
Being part of an R&D division with startup spirit in a globally active company: we work in an iterative fashion to solve complex real-world problems at the frontier of robotics

Your Skillset

PhD/MSc in Robotics, Computer Science, or a related technical field
5+ years of experience in developing planning and control algorithms, preferably on robotic products
Expertise in a wide range of methods for planning and control - sampling-based, optimization-based, ML-based.
Solid programming skills in Python and C++
Knowledge of robotics frameworks and tools (particularly ROS2, Omniverse) and ability to work closely with other robotics teams
