Miami Unified School District in Arizona is seeking a SPECIAL NEEDS PARAPROFESSIONAL to support teachers and students, prepare materials, supervise activities, and tailor instruction to individual IEP goals. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 60 credits or ParaPro testing, and the ability to obtain fingerprint/background clearance.

Qualifikationen

• Requires ability to read and implement IEP goals.

• Experience assisting students with disabilities preferred.

Aufgaben

• Assist in the development of student's IEP.
• Implement daily lesson plans including academic, social, and functional activities as indicated in the IEP.
• Organize/prepare instructional material for students.
• Provide direct student instruction (individual or group) from lesson plans.
• Maintain records and files for assigned student(s).
• Computer skills to input data.
• Provide formal and informal evaluation of IEP goal attainment.
• Assist classroom teacher as time and conditions permit.
• Design, implement, and enforce behavior management plans.
• Provide physical assistance to assigned students, as needed.
• Provide life skill assistance as described in the IEP.
• Follow proper techniques in handling, lifting, and carrying students.
• Assist in therapy as instructed, and as explained in the IEP.
• Maintain student confidentiality, while informing the teacher and principal of important aspects.
