Zusammenfassung

The Space Research and Planetary Sciences Division at the University of Bern invites applications for a Test or Electrical Engineer to support the NIM instrument for ESA JUICE. The role focuses on engineering, testing, and scientific support for a premier planetary mission.

You will calibrate hardware, diagnose issues, document procedures, and collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams in a dynamic research environment.

Qualifikationen

• Higher education degree in engineering, physics, or a related technical field.
• Experience with laboratory instrumentation and electronic diagnostics.
• Proficiency in Python and/or C++ (or similar).
• Hands-on, collaborative, team-oriented problem solving.
• Proficient written English; basic German desirable.

Aufgaben

• Plan and conduct calibrations and tests of the instrument under various operational conditions.
• Lead diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of hardware and system issues.
• Characterize and optimize critical components and subsystems.
• Develop and validate operation and software tools.
• Investigate in-flight issues and support related analyses.
• Maintain and improve technical documentation (design and operations manuals).
• Manage inventory and procurement activities for hardware.
