Zusammenfassung

ETH Zurich │ Space is seeking a committed Legal Counsel to support the Research Contracts Group. You will negotiate complex international research agreements, advise on IP, export controls and risk, and help ensure legally sound collaborations with space agencies, industry and universities.

You will work at the interface of space research and law, supporting ETH researchers from idea to contract while maintaining pragmatic, outcome‑oriented advice in a dynamic environment.

Qualifikationen

• You hold a university degree in law with technical context understanding.
• Experience in international contract law or research management (>=5 years).
• Knowledge of intellectual property, tech transfer or research law is an advantage.

Aufgaben

• Review, draft and negotiate complex national and international research and development contracts, including NDAs.
• Manage projects with ESA, NASA, JPL and other partners.
• Advise researchers on contract drafting, IP, liability and risks.
• Provide guidance on export controls and dual‑use goods with compliance units.
• Develop contract templates, guidelines and standard processes for space and research projects.
• Collaborate with ETH transfer, compliance units and external stakeholders.
• Ensure international collaborations are legally sound while enabling research activities.
