Our client is a global proprietary trading firm with decades of history in traditional markets and a fast-growing presence in emerging, technology-driven asset classes. Operating from offices across several continents, the business is built around a strong research culture, in-house engineering, and short feedback loops between idea and live trading. The Switzerland-based team our client is hiring for is small, close-knit, and given significant ownership over the tools and systems it builds.

This team works on the technology that supports the firm's activity in newer, rapidly evolving parts of the market. Because that landscape shifts quickly, the group stays deliberately lean and flexible, giving each engineer room to move across projects and shape their day-to-day work around their strengths.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For

Must have:

• Strong grounding in applied mathematics, statistics, or numerical modelling
• Solid understanding of digital assets and how these markets function
• Fluency in at least one systems-level or specialised programming language used in modern financial or distributed-systems engineering
• Comfortable working in a Linux-based R&D environment with version control and standard engineering tooling
• Self-directed, comfortable researching and solving problems independently
• Strong written and spoken English

Advantageous:

• Prior exposure to newer, technology-native segments of the financial markets
• Specialised knowledge of the underlying architecture of modern distributed ledger systems
• Hands-on experience in a quantitative or systematic trading environment
• Familiarity with smart contract design and development
• Working knowledge of applied cryptography, digital signatures, or hashing
