Google is seeking software engineers to build next‑generation Large Language Model agents (e.g., BAA and BHAA) for more than 2M merchants. You will implement agentic tools, reasoning pipelines, and ensure high accuracy and usefulness of responses across Google Shopping surfaces.

You will contribute to backend systems, integrate RPCs, and ensure low latency for serving millions of merchants while collaborating with cross‑functional teams on cutting-edge AI and search technologies.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of software development experience or 1 year with an advanced degree.
• 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure.
• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related field (preferred).

Responsabilidades

• Design, build, and deploy features for flagship conversational agents using Gemini models and ADK.
• Implement robust backend tools and RPC integrations to retrieve, aggregate, and reason over merchant performance metrics.
• Implement automated evaluations, guardrails, and prompt engineering to reduce hallucinations and improve factual accuracy.
• Connect conversational intelligence with reporting and guidance frameworks for seamless interactions across Merchant Center and Business Home.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code in Java/Kotlin or C++, ensuring low-latency serving for millions of merchants.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.

In this role, you will build next-generation Large Language Model (LLM) agents (e.g., BAA and BHAA) that act as virtual business analysts for more than 2M merchants across Google Shopping. You will implement agentic tools and reasoning pipelines that explain performance shifts and deliver actionable business guidance across surfaces.People shop on Google more than a billion times a day - and the Commerce team is responsible for building the experiences that serve these users. We support and partner with the commerce ecosystem, from large retailers to small local merchants, to give them the tools, technology and scale to thrive in today’s digital world.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy features for our flagship conversational agents (e.g., BAA and BHAA) using Gemini models and Google’s Agent Development Kit (ADK).
• Implement robust backend tools and Remote Procedure Call (RPC) integrations (e.g., server platform, Spanner, F1) that allow agents to retrieve, aggregate, and reason over merchant performance metrics, inventory, and guidance cards
• Implement automated evaluations, guardrails, and prompt engineering strategies to eliminate hallucinations and ensure high factual accuracy and helpfulness in agent responses.
• Connect conversational intelligence with Graphics Interchange Format's (GIF's) reporting and guidance frameworks to deliver seamless interactions across Merchant Center and Business Home.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-tested code in Java/Kotlin or C++, ensuring agent workflows execute reliably and meet low-latency serving requirements for millions of merchants.
